Jay Silvia Named Atlantic Hockey Player Of The Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior forward Jay Silvia (Burlington, Mass.) has been named the Team Travel USA Atlantic Hockey Player of the Week for his performance in games versus UMass and Sacred Heart. Silvia posted two goals and one assist for three points on the week. This is the first time in his career that he has earned this honor, while this is his second career weekly award as he was named the Rookie of the Week in the 2008-2009 season.

Silvia notched one assist in the 7-2 loss at UMass on Nov. 11, while he then scored two goals including the game-winner, in the 6-4 victory versus Sacred Heart on Nov. 12. He now has eight career game-winning goals. Silvia has 29 goals and 20 assists for 49 points in 109 games.

The Crusaders (4-4-0, 3-2-0 Atlantic Hockey) return to action on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18-19 when they travel to Rochester, N.Y., to play two games versus RIT (3-3-2, 2-2-2 Atlantic Hockey) at 7:00 p.m.
