WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore forward Adam Schmidt (Warrington, Pa.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from October 17-23. Schmidt helped lead the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team to a 5-4 victory over No. 7 Boston University in its only game last week.
During the victory over the Terriers, Schmidt scored two of the Crusaders' goals. His first goal came at the 11:41-mark of the first period on a two-man advantage to tie the score at 2-2. Schmidt then added another power play goal at the 17:37-mark of the first period, to give Holy Cross the lead for good at 3-2.
Schmidt leads the team in scoring with three goals and five points so far this season, while recording at least one point in every game. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has totaled nine goals and 17 assists for 26 points in 40 games.
Holy Cross (2-1 overall, 1-0 Atlantic Hockey) returns to action this Thursday, Oct. 27, when it travels to Connecticut for a 7:00 p.m. game.
