WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore forward Rob Linsmayer (Winnetka, Ill.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 24-30. Linsmayer led the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team to a pair of victories over Connecticut last weekend.
During Friday night's 4-2 win over the Huskies, Linsmayer recorded two goals and an assist. He scored the first two goals of the game in the first period to give the Crusaders a 2-0 lead, before adding an assist on a goal by sophomore forward Kyle Fletcher (Kanata, Ontario) in the third period. Then in Saturday night's 4-0 victory over Connecticut, Linsmayer had two more assists, including one on Fletcher's game-winning goal.
Overall this season, Linsmayer ranks second on the team in scoring with 22 points on eight goals and 14 assists. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has now totaled 12 goals and 29 assists for 41 points.
The Crusaders return to action this Friday, Feb. 4, when they travel to American International College for a 7:00 p.m. game.
