WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's hockey team will open its 2010-2011 campaign at the 14th annual Warrior Ice Breaker Tournament at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo., on Friday, Oct. 8 and Sunday, Oct. 10. The Crusaders will play Notre Dame on Friday at 5:30 p.m. (CDT), and then either take on Wisconsin or Boston University on Sunday at either 12:00 p.m. (CDT) or 3:00 p.m. (CDT).
The Ice Breaker officially opens the NCAA men's hockey season. Holy Cross will become only the second school from Atlantic Hockey to ever take part in the event. This year will also mark only the second time the Ice Breaker will take place away from a participating school's home rink.
Tickets to the Ice Breaker will be available through the Holy Cross Ticket Office through Aug. 30, by calling 508-793-2573. All-session ticket prices are $65, $55, $45 and $25. All mezzanine level tickets are general admission. Group tickets are also available.
Also the Holy Cross Alumni Club of St. Louis will be a holding a reception at the Scottrade Center on Oct. 8. More details about the reception will be announced at a later date.
Along with the college tournament, 150 youth hockey teams from around the nation will compete in a junior tournament, while on Saturday, Oct. 9, the St. Louis Blues will play their season opener versus the Philadelphia Flyers at the Scottrade Center at 7:00 p.m. (CDT).
The Crusaders return 22 letterwinners and four starters from last season.
