WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore forward Jay Silvia (Burlington, Mass.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from February 8-14. Silvia totaled four points on three goals and an assist in three games last week, as the Holy Cross men's ice hockey team posted a perfect 3-0 record.
During Tuesday's 3-2 victory over Connecticut, Silvia scored what proved to be the game-winning goal at the 3:43-mark of the third period, giving the Crusaders a 3-1 lead at the time. He then scored the first goal of the night in Friday's 6-4 win at Bentley, in addition to posting an assist later in the contest. Silvia concluded the week by scoring the Crusaders' third goal in Saturday's 4-0 victory over Bentley.
On the season, Silvia now ranks third on the team in scoring with 14 points on 10 goals and four assists. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has totaled 21 goals and 14 assists for 35 points.
Holy Cross returns to action on Friday, Feb. 19, when it travels to Sacred Heart for a 7:00 p.m. game.
