WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross freshman goalie Thomas Tysowsky (Amherst, N.Y.) was named the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Month for October.
Tysowsky had an outstanding month as he started five of six games and earned his first two collegiate wins. He made 125 saves and allowed 12 goals. His 2.39 goals against average ranks second around the league and his .912 save percentage is third.
He was named the Atlantic Hockey Goalie of the Week on Oct. 19 as he made his collegiate debut, making 25 saves and allowing two goals for a .926 save percentage as the Crusaders fell to Merrimack (Oct. 16), 3-1. On Oct. 24-25, he earned two victories as Holy Cross won both road contests against Canisius, 3-2. Tysowsky made 51 saves and allowed four goals.
The Crusaders (2-3-1, 2-1-1 Atlantic Hockey) return to action when they play two games versus Sacred Heart (2-2-1, 1-0-0 Atlantic Hockey) on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 6-7. Holy Cross will travel to Milford, Conn. on Friday to play at the Milford Ice Pavilion, while on Saturday Holy Cross will play at home. Both games will start at 7:00 p.m. Last season, the series was tied at 2-2-0, as each team won one game at home and one game on the road.
