WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's hockey team had 17 players earn 2008-2009 Atlantic Hockey All-Academic honors. Seniors Shane McAdam (Hamilton, Ontario) and Dewey Thomson (Northbridge, Mass.) have each been named Atlantic Hockey All-Academic four times.
The other members of the team be named All-Academic were freshman Gianni Baldassari (Fort Wayne, Ind.), sophomore Matt Celin (Gibsonia, Pa.), freshman Andrew Cox (Lombardy, Ontario), sophomore Jordan Cyr (Winnipeg, Manitoba), freshman Mike Daly (South Burlington, Vt.), junior Ian Dams (Manotick, Ontario), senior Marty Dams (Manotick, Ontario), freshman Matthew Davis (Lancaster, N.Y.), sophomore Jamie Jelinek (Great Falls, Va.), senior Charlie Lockwood (Breckenridge, Colo.), junior Peter Lorinser (Marquette, Mich.), freshman Luke Miller (Andover, Mass.), sophomore Adam Roy (Feeding Hills, Mass.), sophomore Everett Sheen (Lethbridge, Alberta) and sophomore Mark Znutas (Emerson, N.J.).
To qualify for Atlantic Hockey All-Academic accolades an individual must post a 3.0 grade point average or higher in all of the academic periods during which his team was actively competing. There were 135 student-athletes named to the team this season marking a new record.
