The Holy Cross men's golf team concluded the fall season when it placed 20th out of 44 teams at the NEIGA Championship at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Mass., on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 20-21.
Sophomore Tim McGovern (Oradell, N.J.) led Holy Cross at the NEIGA Championship with a two-round score of 157 and a tie for 35th place. McGovern had the best score for the Crusaders in three of the five competitions this fall. His 79.9 average this fall was the best on the team.
Sophomore James Widman (Middlebury, Conn.) had the second best average on the team this fall of golfers who have played at least six rounds with an 81.2, while senior co-captain Pat Brown (Silver Spring, Md.) and senior Joe DePanfilis (Keene, N.H.) were each tied for third on the team with an 81.8 average.
