WORCESTER, Mass. - With the 2007-2008 season now complete, the Holy Cross men's golf team is looking ahead to the 2008-2009 campaign. The Crusaders will be led by senior co-captains Pat Brown (Silver Spring, Md.) and Brian Flood (Forest Hills, N.Y.). Joining them on the roster will be sophomores Colin Andrade (Assonet, Mass.), Tim McGovern (Oradell, N.J.) and James Widman (Middlebury, Conn.).
All other players off the 2007-2008 roster, in addition to all prospective candidates for the team, must qualify for the four remaining spots on the roster. The qualifying tournament will be held on September 6, 7, 13 and 14. On Sept. 6, the event will take place at the Holden Hills Country Club in Holden, Mass., while the other three dates will be at the Heritage Golf Club in Charlton, Mass. Tee times will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Sept. 6, 1:00 p.m. on Sept. 7 and 13 and at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 14. The qualifier will be played over 72 holes.
Any Holy Cross student wishing to enter in the qualifying tournament should contact head coach Bob Molt during business hours at (978) 838-2333, between Sept. 1 and 4. Entries will close at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4. Other details will be posted on campus in late August. All players trying to qualify must have a verified handicap of eight or less.
