Holy Cross Picked Sixth In Patriot League Preseason Poll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Holy Cross men's golf team has been picked to finish sixth in the 2009 Patriot League preseason poll, as voted on by head coaches and sports information directors from around the league. Bucknell was picked to finish first as it earned four of 14 first place votes and 64 total points. Navy had eight first place votes and 62 total points as it was picked to finish second, followed by Army (48 total points and one first place vote), Lehigh (47 total points), Colgate (33 total points and one first place vote), Holy Cross (21 total points) and Lafayette (19 total points).
The 2009 Patriot League Golf Championship will be played from April 25-26 at the West Point Golf Club in West Point, N.Y. Army will serve as the host school. The format is a two-day, 54-hole tournament, with 36 holes of play on Saturday and 18 holes scheduled for Sunday. The Patriot League champion will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
