Holy Cross Men's Golf Places 15th In MacDonald Cup

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Sophomore James Widman (Middlebury, Conn.) shot a three-round total of 236, as the Holy Cross men's golf team finished in 15th place in the MacDonald Cup, held at the Course at Yale. Widman finished in 59th place overall as an individual, as the Crusaders concluded the tournament with a team total of 978 strokes. Oklahoma claimed the team title with 860 strokes, while Jason Thresher of Bryant was the individual medalist with a three-round total of 208.
Following Widman, sophomore Tim McGovern (Oradell, N.J.) placed 70th with 243 strokes, and senior Joe DePanfilis (Keene, N.H.) came in 71st with 248 strokes. Senior Pat Brown (Silver Spring, Md.) finished the weekend in 74th place with a 251, while senior Brian Flood (Forest Hills, N.Y.) placed 79th with a 260.
Holy Cross returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 19, when it faces
St. Anselm at the Marshfield Country Club.
