Men's Golf Competes At CCSU Invite

New Britain, Conn.- The Holy Cross men's golf team opened its fall season with an 11th place finish at the Central Connecticut State Invitational on Saturday and Sunday in New Britain, Conn. The Crusaders had a team score of 629. Sophomore Joe Hajjar (Mahwah, N.J.) had the top performance for Holy Cross with a two day score of 149 which was good for ninth place.

Senior captain Sean Melia (Acton, Mass.) had the second best two day score for the Crusaders with a 158 and a 50th place finish. Sophomore Matt Czarnecki (Greenwich, Conn.) and junior Chris Gorczyca (Mashpee, Mass.) each had a score of 161, while sophomore Ryan Kenny (Medford, Mass.) shot a 171.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, October 1, when they face Providence at Blackstone National Golf Club, in Sutton, Mass.
