Men's Golf Finishes Seventh At Patriot League Championship

WEST POINT, N.Y. - Sophomore Tim McGovern (Oradell, N.J.) and sophomore James Widman (Middlebury, Conn.) tied for 32nd place with three-round totals of 238 strokes, as the Holy Cross men's golf team finished in seventh place at the Patriot League Championship, held at the West Point Golf Course. The Crusaders concluded the tournament with a team total of 952 strokes. Bucknell claimed the team title with 884 strokes, while Andrew Cohen of Bucknell was the individual medalist with a three-round total of 208.

Widman carded a 77 in Sunday's third and final round of play, while McGovern had an 83 on Sunday. Senior Joe DePanfilis (Keene, N.H.) shot a 79 in the final round, to finish in 37th place with a total of 245 strokes. Sophomore Colin Andrade (Assonet, Mass.) and sophomore John Weber (Branford, Conn.) tied for 38th place with three-round totals of 246 strokes.

The 2008-2009 season is now complete for Holy Cross.
