Worcester, Mass. - Holy Cross finished sixth with a final score of 909 on the par-70, 3,333-yard course at the Seven Oaks Golf Club in the Patriot League Men's Golf Championship, Saturday-Sunday, April 23-24.
Leading Crusaders over the weekend was freshman Matt Czarnecki (Greenwich, Conn.), who finished ninth with a three-round score of 221. The newcomer shot a team-low of 71 in the second round. For finishing in the top-10, Czarnecki was named to the All-League second-team.
Senior Emmet Ferriter (West Simsbury, Conn.) tied for 16th. He finished with a final-score of 226, shooting a three-plus par 73 in the second. Freshman Joe Hajjar (Mahwah, N.J.) came in right behind Ferriter with a three-round tally of 227.
Tying for 39th-place was senior Tim Marquis (East Hampton, Mass.), who golfed a final score of 239. Freshman Ryan Kenny (Medford, Mass.) hit a three-round score of 240 for 41st place, while sophomore Chris Gorczyca (Mashpee, Mass.) finished 43rd with a final-score of 245.
Holy Cross finished 49 strokes behind tournament winner Army. Bucknell's Charles Waddell was the individual tournament winner, who finished one-under par-209.
The Crusaders conclude the spring season at the Rhode Island Spring Invitational, Friday-Saturday, April 29-30 in Portmouth, R.I.
