Men's Golf Places Sixth At Patriot League Championship

ANNAPOLIS, Md.- The Holy Cross men's golf team placed sixth out of seven teams at the Patriot League Championship at the U.S. Naval Academy Golf Club, concluding the 2006 season. The team shot a three round total score of 943, while Bucknell won the event with a total score of 896. Sophomores Joe Hajjar (Mahwah, N.J.), Matt Czarnecki (Greenwich, Conn.) and Ryan Kenny (Medford, Mass.) led the Crusaders as they each tied for 12th place with a 233.

Hajjar's best round of the tournament was his third as he a shot 77, while Czarnecki's first round score of 73 and Kenny's final round of 75 were their top rounds. Freshman Joe DePanfilis (Keene, N.H.) placed 34th with a three round score of 247, while freshman Pat Brown (Silver Spring, Md.) had 254 for 38th and senior captain Sean Melia (Acton, Mass.) had a 256 for a tie for 39th.
