PORTSMOUTH, R.I. - Senior Joe DePanfilis (Keene, N.H.) posted a two-round total of 153, as the Holy Cross men's golf team finished in eighth place at the Northeast Invitational, held at the Green Valley Country Club. DePanfilis finished in 13th place overall as an individual, as the Crusaders concluded the tournament with a team total of 656 strokes. Sacred Heart claimed the team title with 590 strokes, while Pat Fillian of Sacred Heart was the individual medalist with a two-round total of 141.
Following DePanfilis, sophomore James Widman (Middlebury, Conn.) claimed 38th place with a two-round total of 165. Sophomore John Weber (Branford, Conn.) had the third-best score of the day for the Crusaders, finishing in 43rd place with 166 strokes over two rounds.
Holy Cross returns to action when it takes part in the Patriot League Championship, to be held from April 25-26 in West Point, N.Y.
