Stow, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's golf team `A' finished in sixth-place with a single-round score of 321, while team `B' placed 19th with a final score of 347 in the 32nd Annual Lou Flumere Invitational hosted by Bentley College at the Stow Acres Country Club on Thursday, April 15.
Senior Tim Marquis (East Hampton, Mass.) and freshman Ryan Kenny (Medford, Mass.) each qualified for the Patriot League Championship. Kenny, who shot a team-low of 79 tied for 19th-place, while Marquis, who shot a one-round score of 82, finished tied for 45th.
Just one stroke behind Kenny was Freshman Matt Czarnecki (Greenwich, Conn.), who tied for 31st with a final score of 80. Joining Kenny and Czarnecki on team `A' was freshman Joe Hajjar (Mahwah, N.J.) and sophomore Chris Gorczyca (Mashapee, Mass.), who each hit a final-score of 81 to tie for 31st .
Junior Sean Melia (Acton, Mass.) tied for 51st with a final score of 83, while teammates Greg Pasciucco (Summit, N.J.) and Jared Fiore (Fitchburg, Mass.) each hit a final-score of 91 to tie for 93rd-place.
Holy Cross was 13 strokes behind tournament winner Salem State, who finished with a final-score of 308. Salem State's Matt Baran was the tournament winner, finishing with a final-score of 72. The Crusaders next compete at the Worcester City Championship on Wednesday, April 20 in Charlton, Mass.
