Crusaders Compete At Yale Open

New Haven, Conn. - The Holy Cross men's golf team tied for 18th at the Yale Men's Spring Open, Saturday-Sunday, April 9-10 at the Yale University Golf Club.

Leading the Crusaders was senior captain Emmit Ferriter (W. Simsbury, Conn.), who tied for 33rd with a two-round score of 153 (78-75).

Sophomore Chris Gorczyca (Mashapee, Mass.) hit 157 after two-round to tie for 59th, while teammate Joe Hajjar (Mahwah, N.J.) tied for 82nd place with a two-round score of 161.

Freshman Matt Czarnecki (Greenwich, Conn.) tied for 92nd with a final score of 164, as freshman Ryan Kenny (Medford, Mass.) placed 97th with a two-round score of 165.

Holy Cross was 44 strokes behind tournament winner Boston College, who finished with a final score of 590. Connecticut's A.J. Sierskierski was the tournament winner, finishing three strokes over with a two-round score of 143.

The Crusaders return to action on Thursday, April 14, when they compete at the Lou Flumere Invitational in Stow, Mass.
