NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Junior Matt Czarnecki (Greenwich, Conn.) had a two-round total of 162 strokes to place 62nd overall, and lead the Holy Cross men's golf team to an 17th place finish at the Yale Spring Open, played at The Course at Yale. The Crusaders finished with a team total of 669 strokes for the tournament. Hartford won the team title with 597 strokes, while Jason Parajeckas of Connecticut was the individual medalist at 142 strokes.
Freshman Anthony Ardito (Portland, Maine) placed 75th with 165 strokes, while junior Joe Hajjar (Mahwah, N.J.) came in 90th with 169 strokes. Senior Chris Gorczyca (Mashpee, Mass.) and junior Ryan Kenny (Medford, Mass.) rounded out the competitors for Holy Cross, tying for 108th with 176 strokes.
The Crusaders return to action on Wednesday, April 11, when they take part in the Lou Flumere Invitational.
