OCEAN VIEW, Del. - Senior Joe DePanfilis (Keene, N.H.) and sophomore James Widman (Middlebury, Conn.) both shot a two-round total of 162, as the Holy Cross men's golf team finished in 19th place in the George Washington Invitational, held at the Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club. DePanfilis and Widman tied for 63rd place overall as individuals, as the Crusaders concluded the tournament with a team total of 649 strokes. Rhode Island claimed the team title with 601 strokes, while Justin Martinson of Delaware was the individual medalist with a two-round total of 145.
Following DePanfilis and Widman, sophomore Colin Andrade (Assonet, Mass.) placed 89th with 166 strokes. Sophomore Tim McGovern (Oradell, N.J.) finished the weekend in 91st place with a 167, while senior Pat Brown (Silver Spring, Md.) placed 98th with a 168.
Holy Cross returns to action when it takes part in the Lou Flumere Invitational in Stow, Mass., on April 8.
