CHARLTON, Mass. – Holy Cross junior Connor Burfeind (Falmouth, Maine) and freshman Cameron Murray (Traverse City, Mich.) both tied for fourth place with scores of 77 (+6) to help lead the men's golf team to a second place finish at the Joe Plante Invitational held at the par-71 Heritage Country Club on Monday afternoon. The Crusaders shot a combined team score of 315 (+31), as Franklin Pierce claimed the tournament crown with a total score of 310 (+26).
Holy Cross junior Craig Norton (Foxboro, Mass.) carded an 18-hole score of 79 (+8), which tied him for eighth place. Rounding out the scoring for Holy Cross was junior John Reali (Searingtown, N.Y.) and freshman Spencer Arnaud (Tucson, Ariz.). Reali finished in a tie for 17th place with a score of 82 (+11), while Arnaud came in with a score of 84 (+13), which tied him for 21st place.
The Crusaders return to action on Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27, as they will compete in the Patriot League Championship held at the West Point Golf Club in West Point, N.Y.
