Men’s Golf Competes In NEIGA Championship

BREWSTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross men's golf team finished in a tie for 21st place out of 38 teams at the 79th annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship at The Captains Course on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 27-28. The Crusaders came in with 647 strokes (+71), while Central Connecticut State claimed the tournament championship with a team score of 597 strokes (+21).

Holy Cross was led by senior captain Peter Cahill (Wellesley, Mass.) who finished in a tie for 52nd place with a two-day total of 159 (+15). Crusader senior captain Tim DiStefano (Albany, N.Y) carded a two-round score of 163 strokes (+19) and finished in a tie for 92nd place.

Crusader freshman Cameron Murray (Traverse City, Mich.) and junior Connor Burfeind (Falmouth, Maine) tied for 109th place with scorecards of 165 (+21.Third-year Craig Norton (Foxboro, Mass.) rounded out the scoring with a total of 168 (+24), tying him for 131st place.

Holy Cross concludes the 2013 fall season. The 2014 spring schedule will be released at a later date.
