WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross junior Peter Cahill (Wellesley, Mass.) was selected to the Division I All-New England Team as determined by the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA).
Cahill was the top Division I finisher at the NEIGA Championship on October 28, 2012, as he carded a plus-four 76 and clinched the medalist honors with a playoff victory over Bryant's Kyle Buschmann on the first sudden-death hole. Holy Cross placed 10th at the rain-shortened event with a team score of 310. In addition, junior Tim DiStefano (Albany, Mass.) won the longest drive competition held at the tournament.
For the fall season, Cahill participated in seven rounds and averaged an 18-hole score of 75.4, which was second best on the squad. He recorded his lowest collegiate round with an even-par 71 at the Intercollegiate Golf Classic to help propel the Crusaders to a second place finish.
Holy Cross has concluded its fall season and the spring schedule will be release at a later date.
