Men's Golf Takes Twelfth At The Classic At Shelter Harbor
CHARLESTOWN, R.I. – The Holy Cross men's golf team placed 12th out of 15 teams with a total two-day score of 631 in the Classic at Shelter Harbor at the Shelter Harbor Golf Club. Junior Steve Zychowski (Mendham, N.J.) led the Crusaders for the fourth time this season, tying for 23rd with a two-round tally of 153. Bernie D'Amoto of Princeton won the tournament with a final score of 143, winning the playoff.
Zychowski recorded the lowest round on the team, shooting a 72 in the first round. Freshman John Reali (Searingtown, N.Y.) followed Zychowski with a score of 160 and tied for 47th. Rounding out the Crusaders' performances were scores of 161 from senior Andrew Wong (Wailuku, Hawaii) and sophomore Peter Cahill (Wellesley, Mass.) and a 165 by junior Roberto Machado (Miami. Fla.). Dartmouth took the team crown with a combined score of 594.
The Crusaders wrap up the fall season at the NEIGA Championship, held on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 17-18. The tournament will be held at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Mass.
