Schedule: No Scheduled Events

  • The Holy Cross men's golf team will take the week off from competition to prepare and practice for the Patriot League Championship. The championship will be held from April 24-25 at the Seven Oaks Golf Course in Hamilton, N.Y. and is hosted by Colgate.
  • Holy Cross was selected to finish seventh in the 2010 Patriot League preseason poll, as defending Patriot League champion Bucknell was picked first. Holy Cross has multiple players back that competed in last year's Patriot League Championship, including juniors James Widman (Middlebury, Conn.) and Colin Andrade (Assonet, Mass.).
  • Andrade had an impressive week in the team's two tournament outings. He first shot a 74 and won a three-way playoff with a birdie on the first hole to win the individual championship at the Lou Flumere Invitational, the first time that a Crusader has won an individual tournament title since Matt Czarnecki won the 2007 Patriot League Championship. Andrade then scored a career-low round of 68 to lead the Holy Cross men's golf team to a tie for sixth place at the New England Division I Championships. The 68 was also the lowest round shot by a Crusader this season.
  • Freshman Steve Zychowski (Mendham, N.J.) also marked a career-low round over the weekend, shooting a 70 on Sunday. He finished right behind Andrade in a tie for 11th overall at the New England Championships. He currently holds the team's third-lowest stroke average, 73.2. He has also competed in every competition for Holy Cross this season, playing in 18 total rounds thus far.
