Schedule: Saturday, Sept. 12 and Sunday, Sept. 13 at the Mulekicker Fall Classic, West Point, N.Y., 9:00 a.m.
- The Holy Cross men's golf team begins the 2009 fall season at the Mulekicker Fall Classic at the West Point Golf Club in West Point, N.Y. on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 12 and 13. Action both days is set to begin at 9:00 a.m. with Army playing host.
- The Crusaders are a young team in 2009, featuring four juniors and three incoming freshman who are looking to improve on Holy Cross' seventh-place finish at the Patriot League Championship last spring. Junior Colin Andrade (Assonet, Mass.) started last season as the top Holy Cross finisher at the Assumption Shootout scoring a 75, and he will look to duplicate his fast start at West Point. Junior Tim McGovern (Oradell, N.J.) brings experience and consistency to the table, as he led the team with 15 rounds played last season, and was also second on the team in strokes-per-round with 80.9. Juniors Jon Weber (Branford, Conn.) and James Widman (Middlebury, Conn.) also return for the Crusaders. Widman shot a team-best 80.7 strokes-per-round last season. Andrade, McGovern, and Widman will serve as team captains.
- Three incoming freshmen round out the current roster, including Robert Mochado (Miami, Fla.), Michael McCarthy (Tolland, Conn.) and Steve Zychowski (Mendham, N.J.).
- Bob Molt returns for his 34th season as head coach of the Holy Cross men's and women's golf teams in 2009-2010. A graduate of Arizona in 1972, Molt took over the head coaching duties in 1976 from Holy Cross Hall of Famer Gerry Anderson. Last season, four of Molt's golfers were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
