WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior linebacker Dan Adams (Springfield, Va..) and senior offensive lineman Andrew Schoepfer (Waterford, Conn.), members of the Holy Cross football team, have been invited to play in the sixth annual East Coast Bowl, an all-star game for players from the from the Division I-AA, Division II, Division III and NAIA levels. The 2006 East Coast Bowl will be played on Saturday, November 25, at Cameron Field in Petersburg, Va., beginning at 12:00 p.m.
Adams led the Holy Cross defense with 109 total tackles on the season, including 91 solo stops, 13 tackles for loss and two sacks. He also totaled two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and three pass breakups on the year. Adams currently ranks sixth in the nation in solo tackles, 23rd in total tackles and 47th in tackles for loss. He reached double-figures in tackles seven times on the season, while leading the team in tackles in nine out of 11 games. Over the course of his four-year career as a Crusader, he totaled 317 total tackles, 257 solo stops and 19 tackles for loss.
Schoepfer started all 11 games for the Crusaders at right guard this season, as the leader of an offensive line which paved the way for Holy Cross to lead the Patriot League in total offense (384.4 yards per game) and passing offense (271.5 yards per game). He started the final 33 games of his Holy Cross career on the offensive line, while starting a total of 35 contests as a Crusader. Following the 2005 season, Schoepfer was named second team All-Patriot League, in addition to earning third team All-Northeast Region honors from Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette.
Holy Cross finished the 2006 season with an overall record of 7-4, while posting a 4-2 mark in the Patriot League.
