WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior wide receiver Ryan Maher (Boca Raton, Fla.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from October 16-22. Maher helped lead the Holy Cross football team to a 38-28 victory at Lafayette on Saturday, which marked the Crusaders' first win in Easton, Pa., since 1989.
Against the Leopards, Maher led all Holy Cross receivers with nine catches for 97 yards and two scores. His first touchdown came on a 14-yard pass from sophomore quarterback Dominic Randolph (Amelia, Ohio) at the 6:57-mark of the third quarter, to tie the score at 21-21. Maher would catch another scoring pass from Randolph at the 14:44-mark of the fourth quarter, this one for seven yards to tie the score at 28-28.
On the season, Maher leads the team and the Patriot League in receiving with 49 catches for 508 yards and five touchdowns. Over the course of his career at Holy Cross, he has totaled 53 receptions for 546 yards and five scores.
The Crusaders (6-2 overall, 3-0 Patriot League) return to action on Saturday, Oct. 28, when they play host to Lehigh at 1:00 p.m.
