Gough Named To Football Gazette Preseason All-America Team

WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross senior cornerback Casey Gough (Hinsdale, Ill.) has been named a preseason All-American by Don Hansen's National Weekly Football Gazette. Gough was selected to the honorable mention team as a kick returner.

During the 2005 season, Gough earned second team All-Patriot League honors. He returned nine kickoffs for 305 yards and a touchdown last year, good for an average of 33.9 yards per return. Gough also ranked fourth on the team with 45 total tackles, including 40 solo stops and three tackles for loss. He tied for the team lead with three interceptions for 53 yards and a touchdown, and ranked second on the squad with six pass breakups.

Over the course of his career as a Crusader, Gough now has 93 total tackles (81 solo), four interceptions and 14 pass breakups, in addition to returning 24 kickoffs for 738 yards (30.8 yard average).

Holy Cross will open the 2006 season when it travels to Georgetown on Saturday, September 2.
