Holy Cross Football Announces 2006 Incoming Class

April 5, 2006

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Holy Cross head football coach Tom Gilmore has announced the 2006 incoming class for the Crusaders. Thirty-one student-athletes will join the Holy Cross program for the 2006-2007 academic year.

"We are very pleased with the outcome of our recruiting this year," said Gilmore. "We have added a great deal of depth at linebacker and in the secondary, in addition to filling our needs in other areas. Overall, we feel that this is very well balanced class."

The 31 players making up this year's class include 16 on offense and 15 on defense. Holy Cross has added five linemen, four running backs, two wide receivers, three quarterbacks and two tight ends on the offensive side of the ball, while bringing in seven linebackers, five backs and three linemen for the defense.

Holy Cross returns 13 of 24 starters from its 2005 squad which finished with an overall record of 6-5 and a 3-3 mark in the Patriot League. The Crusaders will hold their annual Spring Football Weekend on April 21 and 22, including a golf tournament and the spring game (click here for details). Holy Cross will open the 2006 season at Georgetown on Sept. 2.
