WORCESTER, Mass. — Holy Cross and Boston College will meet in two football games, during the 2018 and 2020 seasons, as announced by Holy Cross athletic director Richard M. Regan, Jr., and Boston College athletic director Brad Bates. Both games will be played at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, Mass., on Sept. 8, 2018, and Sept. 5, 2020.
"I'm very happy that in one of my final acts as director of athletics, we were able to complete this agreement with Boston College," said Regan. "This is something that Brad Bates and I have been discussing for a few months and it's great that we could come to agreement on dates that work for both of us. I think for the alumni of both schools, it will be great to see these historical rivals play again."
"We are excited to be scheduling games against FBS opponents, especially one of our long-time traditional rivals in Boston College," said Holy Cross head coach Tom Gilmore. "The alumni from both schools have been looking forward to the return of this game."
Holy Cross and Boston College have met 82 times in their history, the most games against any single opponent for either school. The Eagles hold a 47-32-3 all-time lead in the series, including eight straight wins since the Crusaders posted a 30-29 victory in 1978. The schools last played on Nov. 22, 1986, at Fitton Field, with Boston College winning 56-26.
