HIGH SCHOOL:
• Played for head coach David Perry at Croatan High School in Newport, N.C.
• Served as team captain during his senior season.
• Named All-East Central Conference 2A as a senior.
• Selected first team All-State 2A by NCPreps.com in 2011.
• Had 17 pancake blocks and did not allow any quarterback sacks during his senior season.
• Totaled 120 tackles, four quarterback sacks, four forced fumbles and 12 tackles for loss on defense during his high school career.
• Also a member of the varsity track team.
• Member of National Technical Honor Society.

PERSONAL:
• Son of Fred and Marcia Hopewell.
• Has one brother (Kyle) and one sister (Katie).
• Father played baseball at Ohio Dominican University.
• Has not yet declared a major.
