WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior linebacker C.J. Martin (Plano, Texas) and senior linebacker Ricky Otis (Cleves, Ohio), members of the Holy Cross football team, have been invited to play in the 2011 FCS Senior Scout Bowl. A postseason all-star game showcasing the talent of senior players from the NCAA football championship subdivision, the FCS Senior Scout Bowl will be played on Saturday, Dec. 17, at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C., beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Martin was named second team All-Patriot League this year, after starting 10 games for the Crusaders at linebacker. He ranked third on the team with 71 total tackles, including 61 solo stops, four quarterback sacks and five tackles for loss. Martin also intercepted one pass this season. He finished the year ranked eighth in the Patriot League in quarterback sacks and 11th in total tackles. Over the course of his collegiate career, Martin totaled 199 tackles, four sacks, nine tackles for loss, three interceptions, three pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Otis earned first team All-Patriot League honors for the second straight season in 2011, after starting all 11 games at linebacker. He led the team with 97 total tackles, including 81 solo stops, four quarterback sacks and 10 tackles for loss. Otis also posted an interception and five pass breakups this season. He finished the year ranked fourth in the Patriot League in tackles, sixth in tackles for loss, ninth in sacks and 18th in passes defended. Over the course of his collegiate career, Otis totaled 232 tackles, five sacks, 12 tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, two forced fumbles, an interception and a fumble recovery.
