WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior cornerback Cav Koch (Dallas, Texas) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from November 8-14 . Koch helped lead the Holy Cross football team to a 37-27 victory at Lafayette on Saturday.
During the win over the Leopards, Koch scored the first touchdown of his collegiate career to give the Crusaders a 10-7 lead late in the second quarter. After a bad snap on a field goal attempt was fumbled, Koch scooped up the ball and ran 68 yards for a touchdown. He went on to finish the game with eight total tackles and a pass breakup, in addition to the fumble recovery.
On the season, Koch is tied for eighth on the team with 34 total tackles, to go along with four pass breakups, a tackle for loss, an interception and a fumble recovery. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has now totaled 39 tackles.
The Crusaders (5-5 overall, 2-2 Patriot League) return to action this Saturday, Nov. 20, when they play host to Bucknell (1-9 overall, 1-3 Patriot League) at 12:30 p.m. in their final game of the 2010 season.
