McCabe Named to CoSIDA / ESPN Academic All-District Team

WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior offensive tackle Mike McCabe (Watertown, Conn.), a member of the Holy Cross football team, has been selected to the 2010 ESPN Academic All-District I squad, it was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America. The team is comprised of players from Division I schools in the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. This marks the second straight season McCabe has been named to the Academic All-District team.
    
McCabe has started every game this year on an offensive line which has allowed just 10 sacks, while the Crusaders have averaged 320.4 yards of total offense and 20.1 points per game. He has now played in 32 career games with 21 starts, and was named second team All-Patriot League in 2009. In the classroom, McCabe owns a 3.70 grade point average with a major in Classics.

By earning Academic All-District honors, McCabe will now be on the ballot for Academic All-America honors. The ESPN Academic All-America team will be announced on Nov. 23.

Holy Cross (4-4 overall, 1-1 Patriot League) returns to action this Saturday, Nov. 6, when it plays host to Lehigh (6-2 overall, 2-0 Patriot League) in a 12:30 p.m. game.
