DiMichele Earns Preseason Second Team All-America Honors

WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior strong safety Anthony DiMichele (McKees Rocks, Pa.) has been selected as a preseason second team All-American by the Sports Network. He was one of only three players from New England and five players from the Patriot League to be honored.

DiMichele played in 10 games with nine starts for Holy Cross last season. He was named a third team All-American by the Sports Network, in addition to being a first team All-Patriot League selection. Despite missing two games due to injury, DiMichele ranked second on the team with 82 total tackles, including 70 solo stops, one sack and five tackles for loss. He also posted two interceptions, five pass breakups and a fumble recovery. DiMichele finished the season ranked seventh in the Patriot League in tackles, interceptions and passes defended. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has totaled 154 tackles, 15 pass breakups and four interceptions.

The Crusaders will open the 2010 season when they play host to Howard on Saturday, September 4, at 1:00 p.m.
