WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross football team has named Brian Miller its new running backs coach, as announced by head coach Tom Gilmore. Miller comes to the Crusaders after spending the last year as the wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator at Assumption College.
During the 2009 campaign, Miller helped lead Assumption to its first winning record in 14 years, and its first ever winning season since moving to Division II. In addition to his duties as the wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator, he served as the team's co-special teams coordinator and academic coordinator.
Prior to his time with the Greyhounds, Miller spent three years on the coaching staff at the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. He began coaching the running backs and kick returners in 2006, before serving as special teams coordinator, quarterbacks coach and wide receivers coach in 2007. During the 2008 campaign, Miller was the passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Corsairs.
Miller earned his bachelor's degree from Assumption in 2006, then received a master's degree from UMass-Dartmouth in 2008.
The Crusaders are scheduled to open the 2010 season when they play host to Howard on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 1:00 p.m.
