WORCESTER, Mass. – Jack Moriarty has been selected as the recipient of the first annual Holy Cross Gridiron Club Leadership Council Lifetime Achievement Award. Beginning next year, the honor will be known as the Jackie Mo Lifetime Achievement Award.

Moriarty originally came to Holy Cross as both an athletic trainer and equipment manager in 1971. He was promoted to head athletic trainer in 1991, before devoting his full time to serving as the head equipment manager in 1994. In 1992, Moriarty coordinated the sports sciences area for the NCAA men's basketball first and second round games held at the Worcester Centrum. With his hard work and dedication, he was widely regarded as the backbone behind all Holy Cross athletic teams, and was seen at almost every home event.

Moriarty is a 1971 graduate of Springfield College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in physical education. He retired from his position at Holy Cross in the summer of 2009.
