WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior wide receiver Freddie Santana (Staten Island, N.Y.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from October 26-November 1. Santana helped lead the 17th-ranked Holy Cross football team to a 41-27 victory at Fordham on Saturday.
In the victory over the Rams, Santana caught seven passes for 82 yards and three touchdowns. He set a new career-high with three touchdown catches, while tying his career-high with seven total receptions. Santana's third touchdown of the day came with 5:55 remaining in the third quarter, giving the Crusaders an insurmountable 34-13 lead.
On the season, Santana ranks third on the team with 29 catches for 406 yards and five touchdowns. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has totaled 56 receptions for 716 yards and eight scores
Holy Cross (7-1 overall, 3-0 Patriot League), now ranked 13th in the nation, returns to action this Saturday, Nov. 7, with a 12:30 p.m. game at Lehigh.
