WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior wide receiver Bill Edger (Hainesport, N.J.) has been named the AT&T Crusader of the Week, for competition from October 19-25. Edger helped lead the 22nd-ranked Holy Cross football team to a 42-28 victory over No. 17 Colgate on Saturday.
In the victory over the Raiders, Edger caught nine passes for 127 yards and a score. His touchdown came on a 15-yard catch in the first quarter, to give the Crusaders an early 7-0 lead. In addition, six of Edger's other eight catches in the contest were good for first downs. He finished the game with new career-highs for both receptions and receiving yards.
On the season, Edger ranks second on the team with 27 catches for 436 yards and three touchdowns. Over the course of his collegiate career, he has totaled 51 receptions for 781 yards and seven scores
Holy Cross (6-1 overall, 2-0 Patriot League), now ranked 17th in the nation, returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 31, with a 1:00 p.m. game at Fordham.
