WORCESTER, Mass. - Fans who were unable to attend the special ceremony honoring four of the greatest players in Holy Cross basketball history on Nov. 16, 2008 can now purchase the keepsake program available for sale that day.
At halftime of the sold out Holy Cross - St. Joseph's men's basketball game, the entire Holy Cross community celebrated the storied careers of George Kaftan '49, Bob Cousy '50, Togo Palazzi '54 and Tom Heinsohn '56 as their jerseys were raised to the Hart Center rafters. It was the first such ceremony in Crusader basketball history.
The commemorative program includes statistics, photos and career highlights of all four honorees, a column by former Worcester Telegram sports writer John Gearan, features on both the 1947 NCAA Championship team and the 1954 NIT Championship team, as well as other game day information.
Cost of the program is $5.00, and they will be available while supplies last. For an order form in PDF format, click here.
