HC Picked Third In Patriot League Preseason Poll

BALTIMORE, Md. - The Holy Cross men's basketball team has been picked to finish in third place in the 2008-2009 Patriot League preseason poll of head coaches and sports information directors. The Crusaders received 68 total points in the poll, along with two first place votes. American placed first in the poll, with 98 total points (14 first place votes), followed by Lehigh in second with 75 points.

Colgate finished fourth in the poll with 67 points, followed by Bucknell in fifth with 47 points. The preseason rankings were rounded out by Navy (sixth, 46 points), Army (seventh, 29 points) and Lafayette (eighth, 18 points).

Holy Cross is scheduled to open the 2008-2009 regular season on Friday, November 14, when it plays host to Sacred Heart in a 7:00 p.m. contest at the Hart Center.
