Holy Cross Basketball Drops First Game In Europe

ALKMAAR, Netherlands - Junior guard Pat Doherty (Scranton, Pa.) scored a team-high 16 points, as the Holy Cross men's basketball team lost 53-51 to the national team of Switzerland in the opening game of its European Tour. Junior forward Alex Vander Baan (Uxbridge, Mass.) added seven points and 10 rebounds for the Crusaders, while junior forward Colin Cunningham (Memphis, Tenn.) chipped in with seven points. The Swiss team was led by Thabo Sefolosha, who played for the Chicago Bulls last year, with 18 points.

Holy Cross is scheduled to play four more games while in Europe.
