WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross senior forward Kevin Hyland (White Plains, N.Y.) has been selected to the 2005-2006 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for men's basketball, as announced by the league office. Hyland was one of 17 players from around the conference to be selected to the squad. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a grade point average of 3.20 or better during the spring semester, and be a starter or key reserve on his team.
During his senior season, Hyland averaged 3.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game, while ranking second on the team with 22 blocked shots. He also posted a 3.23 grade point average during his final semester, and graduated in May with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.
The Crusaders concluded the 2005-2006 season with an overall record of 20-12, and finished in second place in the Patriot League with an 11-3 mark in conference games.
