Crusaders Place Six Players On Academic All-League Team

WORCESTER, Mass. - Six members of the Holy Cross men's basketball team have been selected to the 2006-2007 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office. Leading the Crusaders was freshman guard Zach Paterick (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.), who posted a 3.50 grade point average during the spring semester. Holy Cross six total selections to the Academic Honor Roll were the most of any school in the conference.

Joining Paterick on the Academic Honor Roll were senior guard Torey Thomas (White Plains, N.Y.), junior guard Victor Vaval (West Roxbury, Mass.), sophomore forward Alex Vander Baan (Uxbridge, Mass.), freshman guard Nate Cornish (Onedia, N.Y.) and freshman forward Andrew Keister (Galloway, N.J.).

A total of 27 student-athletes from men's basketball teams around the league earned spots on this year's Academic Honor Roll. To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a grade point average of 3.20 or better during the spring semester, and be a starter or key reserve on her team.

Holy Cross finished the 2006-2007 campaign with an overall record of 25-8. The Crusaders won the Patriot League Tournament title for the fifth time in school history, in addition to sharing the conference regular season crown with a 13-1 mark in league games.
