COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Holy Cross men's basketball team practiced twice on Thursday in preparation for its 2007 NCAA Tournament opener on Friday night against Southern Illinois (9:40 p.m. / CBS).
The Crusaders practiced privately before an open practice Thursday evening at Nationwide Arena, site of NCAA First and Second Round competitions on Friday and Sunday.
Coaches and student-athletes from the eight schools at the Columbus site participated in media interviews either before or after practices open to the public.
Holy Cross enters the NCAA Tournament with an overall record of 25-8 on the season. The Crusaders won the Patriot League Tournament title for the fifth time in school history, in addition to sharing the conference regular season crown with a 13-1 mark in league games.
Southern Illinois stands 27-6 overall, and won the Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship with a 15-3 record.
