WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's basketball team has earned the No. 13 seed in the West Region of the 2007 NCAA Tournament. The Crusaders will play a first round game against No. 4 seed Southern Illinois in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday, March 16. The game will start at approximately 9:40 p.m., 30 minutes following the conclusion of the Illinois-Virginia Tech contest (7:10 p.m. tip-off).
Tickets will be on sale beginning on Monday at 10:00 a.m., but will only be sold to Holy Cross alumni, season ticket holders, or students. Tickets are $61.00, and will be for the two-game session in which the Crusaders play on Friday. Tickets may be purchased at the Holy Cross Ticket Office in the Fieldhouse (10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.), or by calling (508) 793-2573.
Holy Cross enters the NCAA Tournament with an overall record of 25-8 on the season. The Crusaders won the Patriot League Tournament title for the fifth time in school history, in addition to sharing the conference regular season crown with a 13-1 mark in league games.
Southern Illinois stands 27-6 overall, and won the Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship with a 15-3 record.
