WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior guard Kevin Hamilton (Queens Village, N.Y.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 10-16. Hamilton led the Holy Cross men's basketball team to a 2-0 record last week, as the Crusaders defeated Army (66-29) and Colgate (74-64).
In the Army game, Hamilton scored 18 points on six of 12 shooting from the field, including a five of eight performace from three-point range. He also totaled four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Against Colgate, Hamilton again lit up the scoreboard with 19 points, making six of 13 field goal attempts and four of 10 three-pointers. He also recorded five rebounds and two assists against the Raiders, in addition to tying his career high with six steals.
On the week, Hamilton averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals and 2.0 assists per game, while hitting 48.0 percent of his field goals and 50.0 percent of his three-pointers. For the season, he leads the team with averages of 14.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.1 steals per contest.
Holy Cross (10-5 overall, 2-1 Patriot League) returns to action tomorrow, Jan. 18, when it plays host to Iona in a 7:30 p.m. game at the DCU Center.
