WORCESTER, Mass. - Holy Cross freshman guard Andrew Beinert (Floral Park, N.Y.) has been named the Patriot League Anaconda Rookie of the Week, for games from Jan. 7-13. This marks the second time this season Beinert has earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week honors, as he previously took home the award on Dec. 10.
In Saturday's 60-52 loss at Lafayette, Beinert scored a career-high 15 points while playing all 40 minutes at point guard. He hit five of 10 shots from the field against the Leopards, including two of five attempts from three-point range, in addition to posting four rebounds and two assists. Beinert also played all 40 minutes in Tuesday's 73-48 loss at Maryland, totaling four points, four rebounds and two assists.
In 14 games played so far this season, Beinert is averaging 3.8 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per contest, while hitting 40.9 percent of his three-pointers (nine of 22) and 70.6 percent of his free throws (12 of 17).
Holy Cross (9-5 overall, 0-1 Patriot League) returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 16, when it plays host to Army in a 7:00 p.m. game.
