Pat Doherty Named Crusader Of The Week

WORCESTER, Mass. - Junior guard Pat Doherty (Scranton, Pa.) has been named the Crusader of the Week, for competition from December 31-January 6. Doherty led the Holy Cross men's basketball team to a pair of victories last week, against Boston University and San Francisco.

In Wednesday's 65-62 win over Boston University, Doherty led the team by scoring a career-high 20 points, in addition to posting three assists and three steals. Then in the 67-63 overtime victory at San Francisco on Saturday, he recorded 16 points and four rebounds. Over the course of the week, Doherty made 66.7 percent (10 of 15) of his field goal attempts, 42.9 percent (three of seven) of his three-pointers and 76.5 percent (13 of 17) of his free throws.

On the season, Doherty is now averaging 10.0 points, 4.7 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game, while making 80.6 percent (50 of 62) of his free throw attempts. Over the course of his Holy Cross career, he has totaled 424 points, 196 assists, 132 rebounds and 91 steals.

The Crusaders (9-3 overall) return to action on Tuesday, January 8, when they travel to Maryland for an 8:00 p.m. game.
